About

Emer O'Leary is one of those people who is on a continual quest for discovery. She is virtually obsessed with personal development and spent a great deal of time drawing together information and insights gleaned from sources as varied as philosophy, NLP and Rocky (the movie). This passion for people, belief in the staggering power of personal development and deep creative streak joined forces to give rise to Engaging Company. The design and delivery of Engaging Company training stems from Emer's unique insight into getting the most out of people.

Emer is a qualified NLP Practitioner (Scottish Centre of NLP Excellence, 2006) and spent much of her working life in the voluntary sector. This background has equipped her with invaluable experience in both training and assisting individuals to meet their personal objectives and to lead a life that promotes choice, control and self goverance.

Emer also holds an MA in Ethics, a valid and clean driving licence and an extensive collection of Morrissey albums.

She is at her best when faced with a workplace dilemma and is continually staggered by the impact poor communication can have on personal and professional relationships:

'Let's face it, when was the last time you saw a job description or person specification that didn't have 'Good communication skills' as part of the required skillset? Yet, how many of us consciously invest time and effort in ensuring our communication skills are top notch? The truth is, we don't know what we don't know. I certainly used to think I was a good communicator, but when I realised that there is so much to communication, I felt compelled to share this knowledge and insight with others.'
