Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What size of groups do you train?
A. I normally train groups with between five to twelve members. I like to keep the numbers low in order to give more
individual attention to participants. I have also found that people take the time to get to know one another when they
are in a small group which serves to enhance the training experience.
Q: I need to provide training for 35 people in my staff team on communication skills but I can only release them
collectively for one day. Can you provide the training?
A. I can provide the training if it is possible to break your staff team into smaller teams. I personally don't feel they
would gain a lot from 'mass training' particularly on a course in communication skills where the emphasis is on learning
through practice and discussion. There would be less time for this and less opportunity for asking questions and developing
skills on a one-day course for 35 people.
Q: What other kind of training can you provide besides 'The Rules of Engagement'?
A. I can provide one-day courses or half day workshops on: Enhancing Interpersonal Skills, Making the Most of
Meetings, Personal Development in Practice, Motivation in the Workplace, and Leadership.
Q: I'm really interested in the topics you deliver training in, however there are loads of books out there on these
subjects. Why can't I just read a couple of these great books?
A. There is a host of wonderful books on the topics of communication skills and personal development and I
would encourage anyone to read those books they find useful. What training gives you that a book can't however, is the
opportunity to practice the skills you read about, to reflect on how and why they may be used, to actively develop your
skill set, to bond with others, to discuss the topics with others. The training forum provides space and motivation for
active personal development. Training allows opportunities to put what's taught in books into practice. Books alone do
not provide practical application.
Q: There are loads of training companies offering your kind of training. Why would I choose yours?
A. There are many reasons why you may choose Engaging Company. It may be because you share the same values, because
you believe in the power and scope of personal development and see this as an essential investment. It could be because
you admire the style of our training delivery - a combination of fun with practical discussion. Perhaps you have heard of
NLP and enjoy the way Engaging Company makes use of these teachings without the use of jargon. Maybe you are similarily
committed to inclusion and are looking for a training experience that aims to be inclusive in design, delivery and attitude.
Perhaps, like me, you love what you do for a living, and believe that best results happen when people are happy in what they
do. Maybe you are attracted to the fact that you have one point of contact and that the same person that carries out a
training needs analysis designs the training course and delivers the training course. Or perhaps you just want to find
out all about the connection with Rocky...
